I have several reasons for feeling this way, but cannot reveal all here.
But, one reason is that my roommate Apple will move out to the other Wing.
Our dorm consists of the three Wings, two for girls, one for guys.
: Oh really? ... but ya, I understand... When will you move out?
: This March or April. I've already made a reservation.
She said, this Wing is oldest, dirty, while the rooms of the other Wing is new, the walls are white, kitchen is clean, the tiles of the bathroom are also new; I will stay here two more years, so I want everything set...
: Set what... you may mean "beautiful"...
Ya, I understand how you feel... I might think of the same thing, if I would be supposed to stay here for years...
Ya, I admit that this room is never, never clean. It's too old. What you are reffering to are those facilities. I know.
But still, if she wipes the floor of her space and remove some cobwebs on the ceiling and do some little things to the room, at least once a week, the situation would be changed...
And it is she who occupies the most spacious space among the three of us in the room.
And did she ever imagine... I don't want to say this, and I won't tell this to her, though, every weekend after you and the other roommate go back to their houses in the city, I always sweep the common space and kitchen and wipe the floor with a damp cloth?
That's why, the gray-colored footprints on the floor in front of the bathroom and the common space are always gone when you guys return on Sunday afternoon... Though you never mention it. But it's ok, since cleaning is a good exercise for me and I like to see the floor reveal its freshness again.
I'm not mad at her... but, just a bit... how do you call that?... disappointed?
Does it express my feeling right? Maybe, but not enough... But such a different attitude toward the same room may come from the difference in our lifestyle... Generally, Koreans in the Philippines are really affluent. The number of the students from Korea occupies the 95 % of all the foreign students in the Philippines. They are really many, and everywhere in the Philippines. Anyway, they are used to a convenient life here.
Such a small thing... but sometimes such a small thing makes a small gap in hearts even between the close friends.
