クイーン「Bohemian Rhapsody」を、すべて一人で演奏

手掛けたのはブルー・オイスター・カルトのリッチーカステラーノ（Key、G）。ヴォーカルやギター、ピアノなど全パートを一人で演奏。ロジャー・テイラーと一緒に仕事をした感激からこの映像を制作したとか。

ロジャーが元映画監督兼女優と再婚

元ピンク・フロイドのロジャー・ウォーターズが1月14日、04年に婚約していたローリー・ダーニングと結婚しました。ウォーターズは前妻のプリシラ・フィリップスとは2001年に離婚しており、今回で4度目の結婚となります。ダーニングは映画監督兼女優とのこと。

King Crimson / Municipal Community Montreal, Quebec, Canada

これはすごい音源！The fifteenth gig in almost as many nights, even though it’s an incomplete concert we hear, Crimson certainly hit the ground running after arriving in Montreal. Opening the show with Schizoid Man is certainly a way of grabbing the audience’s attention, and in this case, grabbing them by the lapels and slapping them about a bit. Fripp is on form and David Cross’s violin solo adds a fiery piquancy. Even John Wetton gets to take a short, rumbling breakout solo between the handover between the string players. Lament benefits from an amped-up Fripp solo break in which he employs the devastating Sailor’s Tale-style chordal attack. Perhaps having blown themselves out a touch, the improv preceding Exiles, which had often been a spring board into a pastoral interlude, sounds rather non-committal and half-hearted on this occasion. Exiles itself wobbles slightly after the first verse but also contains some good violin commentary from Cross. Swinging out of Easy Money on a searingly brutal sustained guitar note, Cross takes the band into a confident but reflective mood at the start of the second improvisation of the night. For the first minute or so Wetton and Cross drift in a lilting duet with Bruford confining himself initially to small points of percussion before opening out on dramatic washes of gong after three minutes. Holding his own against Fripp’s twisting laser beam tones, Cross emerges as the moving force of this particular episode. The gig’s excellent sound quality is marred only by the incomplete versions of Schizoid Man, which cuts in on “Cat’s Foot, Iron claw”, and Starless cutting out during Fripp’s final solo thus being robbed of the dramatic restatement of the main theme at the climax.

元ロキシーミュージックのヴォーカリスト、ブライアン・フェリー（66歳）が1月4日に再婚しました。お相手はファッション関連会社の広報部で働いていたアマンダ・シェパード（29歳）嬢。タークス・カイコス諸島で結婚式を行ったとそうです。フェリーは21年間連れ添った前妻、ルーシー・ヘルモアとの間に４人の子供がいます。詳細はこちらのページで。

先生もSennheiserの愛用者

へーって感じですね。個人的にも低音調整できるイアフォンに興味を持っていたところでして…。I use Sennheiser mic, transmitters and receivers, and my in-ears are by Ultimate Ears. The company is pan-American (I had my molds taken in Manhattan,and they were delivered in Pittsburgh, both by hand), and they're superb. The voice effect on 21CSM should ideally be a ring modulator, but live usually ends up being any distortion unit available, The ADT discussed on OMRN is not really double tracking, it just gives a depth ,and halo, to the voice. Phil Collins used it on 'ITAT', for example, but it was hugely popular in the '70s(it's on Easy Money)----well, in my sessions, anyway!

「ウォール」の拡大版発売へ

豊富な内容の7枚組ボックスセットになる模様。‘The Wall’ ‘Immersion’ 7-disc edition includes a DVD featuring a film clip from the 1980 tour and a ‘Behind The Wall’ documentary, plus, for the first time, CDs of excerpts from Roger Waters’ original demos and work-in-progress versions of songs on the final album. Additionally, among these previously unheard versions are David Gilmour’s original demos of ‘Comfortably Numb’ and ‘Run Like Hell’. The Immersion set also includes The Wall Live, compiled from the 1980-1981 original tour.

フロイド再結成報道を否定

ピンク・フロイドが今年のロンドン五輪の開会式で演奏するだろうと英新聞Daily Expressが報じた件について、デヴィッド・ギルモアの代理人がNME誌に否定するコメントを発表。彼は「推測記事で真実ではない」とコメントしています。
