『ホワイト・クリスマス』で有名なアービン・バーリン(Irving Berlin)が書いて、1930年にフレッド・アステアなどに歌われてヒットした曲だそうです。
実はそれから53年後の1983年にもタコっていう歌手が歌ってリバイバルヒットしてるんですね。
息の長い曲です。
リッツといえば世界規模で展開する高級ホテル。
『Puttin' on the Ritz』は直訳すると『リッツを着る』という意味ですが、当時は『おしゃれする』っていう流行言葉だったそうですよ。
