ラジオで懐かしい曲がかかりました。
車のCMにも使われていたことがありますので、みなさんも聞き覚えがあるのではないかと思います。
イギリスのジャズ・ユニット、マット・ビアンコのアルバム『サンバ・イン・ユア・カーサ』（1991年）に入っている『ホワット・ア・フール・ビリーヴス』です。
好きな女の子が自分に脈があると勘違いしてる男に対して、周りの奴らがなんてアホなんだって言ってる歌です。
彼女にその気なんかないよ、愛想笑いしてるだけだってばって。
知らなかったんですが、これはカバー曲だったんですね。
オリジナルはドゥービー・ブラザーズの1979年の全米No.1ヒット曲だそうです。
トップ・ガン歌ってたケニー・ロギンスも製作に関わっているようで、どちらもライブでは定番曲になっているとのこと。
他にもいろんな人がカバーしているようですが、やっぱりラテンテイスト満載のマット・ビアンコが一番好きかな。
これでチャチャ踊れますね。
