Back in June, we shared the Ocean Protocol Product Update half-year check-in for 2025 where we outlined the progress made across Ocean Nodes, Predictoor, and other Ocean ecosystem initiatives. This post is a follow-up, highlighting the major steps taken since then and what’s next as we close out 2025.

We’re heading into the final stretch of 2025, so it’s only fitting to have a look over what the core team has been working on and what is soon to be released. Ocean Protocol was built to level the playing field for AI and data. From day one, the vision has been to make data more accessible, AI more transparent, and infrastructure more open. The Ocean tech stack is built for that mission: to combine decentralized compute, smart contracts, and open data marketplaces to help developers, researchers, and companies tap into the true potential of AI.
2025年の最終時期に向かうにあたり、コアチームが何に取り組んできたのか、そして間もなくリリースされるものは何なのかを見返すのは非常にタイムリーと言える。オーシャン・プロトコルは、AIとデータの公平な競争環境を整えるために構築された。初日から一貫したビジョンは、データをよりアクセスしやすく、AIをより透明に、そしてインフラをよりオープンにすることだ。オーシャンの技術スタックはそのミッションのために構築されており、分散型計算、スマートコントラクト、オープンデータマーケットプレイスを組み合わせることで、開発者や研究者、企業がAIの持つ真のポテンシャルを活用できるようにサポートしている。

This year has been about making that mission real. Here’s how:

Since the launch of Ocean Nodes in August 2024, the Ocean community has shown what’s possible when decentralized infrastructure meets real-world ambition. With over 1.7 million nodes deployed across 70+ countries, the network has grown far beyond expectations.

Throughout 2025, the focus has been on reducing friction, boosting usability, and enabling practical workflows. A highlight: the release of the Ocean Nodes Visual Studio Code extension. It lets developers and data scientists run compute jobs directly from their editor — free (within defined parameters), fast, and frictionless. Whether they’re testing algorithms or prototyping dApps, it’s the quickest path to real utility. The extension is now available on the VS Code Marketplace, as well as in Cursor and other distributions, via the Open VSX registry.
2025年を通じて、焦点は摩擦の軽減、ユーザビリティの向上、そして実践的なワークフローの実現に置かれてきた。ハイライトの一つは、「Ocean Nodes Visual Studio Code拡張機能」のリリースだ。これにより、開発者やデータサイエンティストはエディタから直接、（設定されたパラメータ範囲内で）無料で迅速かつスムーズに電算ジョブを実行できるようになった。アルゴリズムのテストであれdAppの試作であれ、これが実用性への最短ルートとなる。同拡張機能は現在、VS Code Marketplaceのほか、Open VSXレジストリ経由でCursorなどの他のディストリビューションでも利用可能だ。

We’ve also seen strong momentum from partners like NetMind and Aethir, who’ve helped push GPU-ready infrastructure into the Ocean stack. Their contribution has paved the way for Phase 2, a major upgrade that the core team is still actively working on and that’s set to move the product from PoC to real production-grade capabilities.That means:
また、NetMindやAethirといったパートナーからの強力なモメンタムも見られ、彼らはGPU対応インフラのOceanスタックへの統合を推進した。彼らの貢献は、プロダクトをPoC（概念実証）から本番運用のプロダクション級機能へと移行させるべくコアチームが開発を進めている大型アップデート「フェーズ2」への道を開いた。これは下記を意味する：

And while Phase 2 is still in active development, it’s now reached a stage where user feedback is needed. To get there, we’ve launched the Alpha GPU Testers program, for a small group of community members to help us validate performance, stability and reward mechanics across GPU nodes. Selected participants simply need to set their GPU node up and make it available for the core team to run benchmark tests. As a thank-you for their effort and uptime, each successfully tested node will receive a $100 reward.
フェーズ2は現在も活発な開発が続いているが、ユーザーからのフィードバックが必要な段階に達している。そこで我々は「Alpha GPU Testersプログラム」を開始し、コミュニティの少人数グループにGPUノード全体のパフォーマンス、安定性、報酬メカニズムの検証を支援してもらうこととした。選ばれた参加者はGPUノードをセットアップし、コアチームがベンチマークテストを実行できるように提供するだけでよい。作業と稼働時間への謝礼として、テストに成功した各ノードには100ドルの報酬が支払われる。

With Phase 2 of Ocean Nodes, we will be laying the groundwork for something even bigger: the Ocean Network. Spoiler /> it will be a peer-to-peer AI Compute-as-a-Service platform designed to make GPU infrastructure accessible, affordable, and censorship-resistant for anyone who needs it.

Ocean Nodes のフェーズ 2 により、我々はさらに大きな存在である「 Ocean Network 」への足がかりを築くことになる。ネタバレになるが、これは GPU インフラを必要とするすべての人が、手頃な価格で検閲耐性を備えた形で利用できるように設計された P2P 型の「 AI Compute-as-a-Service 」プラットフォームとなる予定だ。
