Two new studies suggest that eating fish could help reduce the risk of age-related macular degeneration(加齢黄斑変性症)(AMD). AMD is the leading cause of age-related vision loss among people aged 60 or older and affects approximately 30% percent of Americans aged 75 years and older. Researchers believe the omega-3 fatty acids(脂肪酸)found in fish such as salmon may protect against retinal(網膜の)oxidation(酸化)and degeneration. (R)
