What does future hold for Levis after being cut?
Chris Simms and Mike Florio react to Will Levis not making the Titans' 53-man roster, examining why things didn't work out in Tennessee and what the future could look like for the quarterback.

The Titans have relea- what are the Titans thinking?
They had one of the best 32 quarterbacks in the NFL.
They had two of the best 32 quarterbacks in the NFL in Cam Ward and Will Levis.
How dare they release Mr. Mayo from the roster?
Will Levis, bye bye-o.
Bye bye-o, I like that.
That's a, that is new phrase there.
I like that, bye bye-o.
Yeah.
I, you know, I, it's not shocking.
I think anybody that was paying attention to the pre-season knew this might happen, right?
Or, okay, he's the third.
Mitchell Trubisky was clearly gonna be the backup.
That was for sure.
So yeah, Will Levis was, you know, hanging by a thread and dealing it out with, Hendon Hooker, who they kept, who a- also did not just blow it out of the water.
You weren't like, "Oh, wow, I didn't know where..." I thought Tennessee might be one of those teams that goes, "Hey, we'll, we'll keep Mitchell Trubisky with Cam Ward and maybe we'll get a quarterback somewhere else.
I don't know."
But the point being with Will Levis, what we said a few weeks ago.
Don't come out into the pre-training camp press conference and, when you're not even the backup at that point, tell us you're one of the 32 best.
It's career malocchio.
It's career suicide.
He malocchio'd himself.
He literally turned that thing you do and turned it to himself and shot himself in the head with it.
I mean, why do it?
We saw him slip in the training camp in one of the scrimmages, and he became NFL meme, territory and property right away.
This, that was a self-inflicted stupid wound by him.
And it'll be interested to see where, where he ends up here, when it's all said and done.
He almost reminds me of, like, a guy who would be from some crazy premise movie where they're gonna take a quarterback and make him into a surfer, and they're gonna take a surfer and make him into a quarterback.
But it's like- Like, he feels like an athlete.
Yeah.
He feels like an athlete who's a really good athlete who can do all sorts of stuff, but he has yet to fully figure out this football thing.
Because there, there's, you know, that, that, that thing that I talk about all the time, understanding the limits of what your body can do and staying within them.
And some guys try to will themselves to perform beyond what they're capable of doing, and I feel like that's, that's been Will Levis' downfall in the NFL.
That he doesn't quite understand how much he can do and how to stay within those lines.
Yeah, I hear you.
I think there's a little bit of, You know, maybe goes into the phrase that we talk about sometimes, "He's an athlete who plays quarterback instead of a quarterback who's a great athlete."
And that- Tim Tebow.
He's Tim Tebow and, and, and that's what I question.
He do- he feels a little bit like, you know, Johnny Be Good.
Remember that?
Like, that's what it really feels like.
Like, "Hey, I'm the number one recruit in America.
Everybody's coming to see me.
Look at my biceps.
Look at my hot girlfriend.
I got it all.
Whoo, I can throw the ball over the mountains there."
Right?
But yeah, but you don't make great decisions, and the ball goes everywhere and sometimes misses the mountain altogether.
So, yeah, he's got some work to do, as we know.
Somebody'll take a shot on him, though, because he, like you said, he's got physical ability.
So they'll bring him in practice squad, see if they can work with him.
Maybe he ends up being the third-stringer somewhere.
We'll see what happens.
Wil- Wil Vrabel, Wil Vrabel want him in, New England?
I, I doubt it.
That'd be the ultimate litmus test- I know or litmus test.
Right.
I mean, somebody who's worked with him and coached him, if they don't want him, and I have no knowledge of or experience with this guy, and the guy who did doesn't want him, that's red flag territory.
All right, let's take a break.
