CCC is a child-centered, play-based, parent-teacher cooperative with a strong anti-bias curriculum. Our award-winning teachers help young children value differences, engage socially and emotionally, and explore the natural world. Scholarships are available.
Located in Kensington, California, Kensington Nursery School is a parent cooperative preschool that also also offers an after-school program for kindergarteners. The morning preschool program provides parents an opportunity to participate in class room activities, if they choose to do so. Pre-school classes include children ranging from ages of 2 years and 9 months through five years old. The kindergarten afterschool program runs from the first day of kindergarten through the end of June for a given academic year. Children are not required to be toilet trained prior to starting preschool. KNS is nonsectarian, and accepts children of all races, religions, cultural origins and family lifestyles. The preschool is licensed for 38 children. The preschool is administered by an elected Board of Directors. The Board hires directors and teachers to set up and supervise the program and to be in charge of the daily operation of the school.
Redwood Garden is an outdoor Waldorf-based program, centered on individualized care from an experienced and loving teacher. We spend our days in a beautiful, spacious garden, at the park, and in Tilden once a month. We celebrate nature and the seasons through circle time, storytelling and puppetry, painting, craft, cooking and baking. Wholesome, organic food is served. Strong friendships and community is formed between children and their families.
Mi Mundo is a bilingual, art and play based preschool for children two and half to five years of age.
