Angel Academy is a heart-centered preschool for children 2.5 years and up. Angel Academy serves children and their families in the most loving and present way. We are based upon a heart-centered pedagogy: Helping children find their breath, love their emotions, and stand in their freedom.
Since 1981, the Child Education Center (CEC) in North Berkeley has been offering Bay Area families with day care, preschool, and pre-kindergarten services for children from the age of three months to six years old. Our goal at CEC is to provide children with a loving environment that nurtures their growth and development. To achieve this we combine experienced teachers, safe classroom and playground environments, and focus on educational play. CEC also encourage parent involvement, functioning as an extended part of your family and partnering with parents in the nurturing and developmental experience of their child/ren. Arbor Preschool is a Spanish/English bilingual program offering an emergent, play based curriculum. We provide a warm and loving environment geared toward teaching and nurturing the whole child. Sunshine Preschool and Childcare is for hearing children, ages 2 to 5 years. An inclusive, play-based program, Sunshine serves typically developing children alongside their peers who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. The Sunshine curriculum encourages active learning and creativity. We support the needs of the youngest students while also emphasizing kindergarten readiness for children who are 4 to 5 years old. The classroom has capacity for 15 children and has a child to teacher ratio of 5:1. Sunshine is licensed to provide a full day program which meets Monday through Friday from 8am-5pm year-round.
Shu Ren International School believes that every day of learning is vitally important to the development of each of our students. It is not enough that our students are learning, or that they are having fun, but rather we must provide them an opportunity for a truly outstanding education. We want to make sure that most days our children come home and say "Mommy, Daddy guess what I did today?" Learning is exciting and rigorous when we make it relevant, fun, hands on, and based on intrinsic motivation from within the student. True authentic rigor in education takes place when the students' burning desire to learn is triggered through inspiring student-centered classrooms. This is inquiry learning, and we do it in Mandarin Chinese and English creating a bilingual immersion-based environment for our students to learn. By combining inquiry learning with dual immersion instruction in Mandarin Chinese and English we believe that the students at Shu Ren will be prepared for the 21st Century.
