Time to Shine Preschool

My preschool program used to be known as Jenni and Tommy's Kids Unplugged, LLC. I am now running a part time, mixed age preschool program from my home. I am passionate about making a difference in the lives of children! My mottos is to "Shine our light and love into the world and that "We are better together!" My goal is to provide a strong foundation of confidence, instill the importance of self love, and a genuine interest in learning in each child. In my program we "Get hands on and play to learn!"

Brooklyn Co-Op Preschool

At Brooklyn Cooperative Preschool, we offer a supportive, play-based environment for 2-4-year-olds. Benefits of a cooperative preschool include a higher adult-to-child ratio and active involvement in your child’s first classroom experiences. Member-families offer classroom support and take on a family job that contributes toward the school’s operations. The classes and curriculum are planned and led by a paid teacher, who is assisted by family teachers in the classroom each day.

Overlook Collaborative Preschool

Overlook Collaborative Preschool is a Reggio Emilia inspired, vegan & vegetarian, eco-friendly half-day preschool located in a quiet nook of the Overlook neighborhood in North Portland. Growing social and emotional intelligence is at the heart of preschool experiences! We guide our students to work on growing their independence as well as building connections to friends when they ask peers for help. Our Daily Journal connects our families to our classroom by detailing the projects and areas of development we're working on through pictures and the children's words. Through playful inquiry we guide our students to explore the world around us and foster a lifetime desire to learn. Explore our website to see if we're a fit for your family.

Chrysalis Preschool

We give your child the benefits you'd expect from the best of a large independent schools: highly trained professionals, and an excellent quality, developmentally appropriate learning experience. Chrysalis also provides something the larger centers can‘t: small class size, a low teacher/child ratio, and a homey environment. Through our interactions with students and their parents, and classroom observation, we get to know the children’s interests and skills. We use this, along with the seasons and study of the natural world, to create personalized curriculum that will inspire, challenge, and nurture our students. At Chrysalis, we know the best learning in the preschool years occurs through hands-on experiences and play. Evidence-based early learning practices involve encouraging children’s curiosities rather than memorizing or completing worksheets. We weave literacy and numeracy into our games, songs, and storytelling. Science is explored through cooking, sensory activities, and loose parts play. Music is integrated into many activities–singing together at circle time, classical music as we look at books after lunch, upbeat music that signals clean-up time. One of the most important things we teach is interpersonal problem-solving and communication. We emphasize thoughtfulness and empathy, helping children build the skills to collaborate and solve problems together.

Village Preschool of Portland

It is our mission to provide a safe and inviting learning environment that supports exploration, cooperation, creativity and problem solving. Village is a place where every child is heard and acknowledged. They are accepted for their feelings and ideas without judgment. As a result, children will naturally begin to trust themselves, be intrinsically motivated, independent, and passionate about learning and respectful members of a community.
