David Gordon House and Collins Log Cabin

Highly regarded as two of the most famous and historic houses in the State of Missouri, the David Gordon House and Collins Log Cabin attract thousands of tourists every year. Situated at 2100 East Broadway Street in Columbia, the David Gordon House is a 13-room, two-story I-frame house that was built way back in 1823 as the living residence of David Gordon and his family. Built in 1818, the Collins Log Cabin is a single pen log house with a loft style. Both these heritage houses were enlisted into the National Register of Historic Places in 1983 and have massive historical importance in the context of American History.

Maplewood (Columbia, Missouri)

A heritage property located on Nifong Boulevard in Columbia, Missouri, Mapplewood is a famous tourist attraction among local visitors as well as outstation tourists. Part of the sprawling and beautiful Frank G. Nifong Memorial Park, this two-story house features the classic Italianate-style architecture with brick construction, massive windows and a small balcony on the upper level. Maintained and run by the Boone County Historical Society, in coordination with the City of Columbia Parks and Recreation Department, this historic dwelling was enlisted into the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

Coca-Cola Bottling Company Building is a former bottling plant in downtown Columbia. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

David R Francis Quadrangle

The David R. Francis Quadrangle or simply 'The Quad', is an integral part of the history and University of Missouri's campus. The Quad is a fine example of the splendid architectural designs of renowned architect Morris Frederick Bell. Listed in the National Register of Historic Places, it is home to several historical structures as well as monuments.

Samuel H. and Isabel Smith Elkins House

The Samuel H. and Isabel Smith House is an ancient structure that is highly regarded for its stellar artisan glassworks. The house site traces and redefines the Italianate style of architecture and is registered on the National Register of Historic Places.

The State Historical Society of Missouri

Founded in the year 1898, the museum is the premier center for study of Missouri's rich history and culture. It is home to one of the best collection of Missouri regional and westward expansion art, and includes works by Thomas Hart, Fred Geary and George Caleb Bingham to name a few. Also, on display is an extensive collection of editorial cartoon and original drawings by popular regional artists. The main and corridor galleries feature rotating exhibits, with selected paintings making it to the permanent display.
