Gazing at the stars, moon and other astronomical wonders is a great family activity and an experience never forgotten. Laws Observatory is located on top of the Astronomy and Physics building on the UMC Campus in Columbia, Missouri, and is home to a 16-inch (40-centimeter) Celestron Scmidt Cassagrain telescope. The facility also has a computer room and astronomy exhibit room, showcasing a collection of autographed pictures from astronauts, engineers and people who were connected with NASA. Recently they have added a Star Trek display and the Observatory is open on Wednesday nights or other special nights with hours of viewing from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
