McCarren Park previously known as the Greenpoint park, is spread over 35 acres of land covered with fields and paths. It is a great place to take the kids who will enjoy playing basketball, handball, football, kickball, soccer, baseball, bocce and tennis. The park has become a recreational place for the community. Locals enjoy playing around the Ericsson Playground which is complete with a jogging track, tennis courts, a soccer field, five baseball diamonds, more than enough space to keep you pumped. The McCarren Park Pool hosts live concerts and is another good place to check out.
Not to be confused with the actor Robert Wagner, this park pays homage to former NYC deputy mayor, Robert F. Wagner Jr. It's located in Lower Manhattan, just west of Battery Park. The park provides great views of the Hudson River, New Jersey, the Statue of Liberty and it serves as an entryway to the manmade enclave of Battery Park City. A couple of other highlights in the park are the Museum of Jewish Heritage and the Skyscraper Museum.
