Established in 2012 by Ronnie Evans and Philip Moseley, Blue Oak is a classic barbeque restaurant and bar known for their Alabama-inspired dishes served in a laid-back atmosphere. The full brick walls and the wooden furniture, give the space a modern yet casual feel. The pit plates, brisket, smoked chicken wings and speciality sandwiches are some of their signature food items on their menu. Blue Oaks also has a full bar stocked with locally brewed craft beer and limited edition spirits.
Charlie's Steak House has been delighting patrons with its fare since 1932, and its interiors exude the warmth and comfort that New Orleanians have come to enjoy throughout its long history. The restaurant has a ladies club upstairs and a men's one downstairs. The walls are adorned with interesting artifacts such as an Elvis Presley cut out and a New Orleans Jazz pennant flag, all gathered over a long period of time. Charlie's has no menu: you choose your steak and sides and the kitchen sends it out on sizzling platters. Onion rings and classic wedge salad are some of the favorite accompaniments of its regular patrons. You can also pick a good wine or beer to go with your food from the bar.
Bayou Hot Wings offers up a local twist on a casual fast food favorite. Nine specialty sauces on the menu include delicious choices, like Bayou Sweet Heat made with Crystal Hot Sauce, Garlic Butter Parmesan, and Steen's Cane Honey BBQ. With so many choices, it's easy to see why it is difficult for wing fans to decide on which way to order their wings. If wings aren't your thing, don't miss the locally sourced Gator Bites, Fried Frog Legs, and Fried Shrimp. In addition to the meats that dominate the menu, Bayou Hot Wings also serves salads and down-home sides like Homemade Tater Salad, Bayou Fried Pickles, and Sweet Pot Fries.
