Sweetwater Restaurant

Sweetwater is a casual restaurant with a warm and welcoming vibe. Its jet-black exterior and floral decor makes the place easy to spot on the busy North 6th Street. The interior is neatly furnished with booths that make cozy seating spaces for your party. There is also an extended patio seating, this is a great spot to dine at when the weather is friendly. The menu at Sweetwater is quintessentially American, the watermelon salad and the lamb burger are must-try lunch specials while the dinner favorites are pork tenderloin, hanger steak and the smoked trout salad. This is also a perfect place to enjoy a laid-back brunch with your family and friends. An impressive wine list is in place and concoctions like La Rubia Sucia and Whiskey Smash are their popular cocktails. Also, the aptly named Food Of The Gods is a decadent chocolate cake that cannot be left out post your meal.

Joe Jr.

Joe Jr. is a cozy spot that is popular among the city dwellers for its delicious all-beef burgers. The interiors have a homely feel with wood paneling in different shades of tan and brown, a long Formica counter and stools. But what the place misses in terms of its setting, it more than makes up for it with its burgers and vibrant atmosphere. It attracts a mixed crowd that comprises students, artists, police academy cadets and workers, all sitting together to relish a plate of eggs or one of the juicy burgers that not only feed their stomachs but also their souls.

Benares

This TriBeCa serves up delicious Indian dishes, both classic and unexpected. The contemporary dining room features warm colors and comfortable furniture to make you right at home as soon as you walk in. At Benares, you can sample typical cuisines from many different regions of India, and particularly the vegetarian dishes of the holy city of Benares (also known as Varanasi.) If you're looking to taste the wide and delectable variety of cuisines that India lays claim to, head to Benares.

Arturo's

If you are looking for some authentic NYC pizza, skip the lines and long waits at Lombardi's and head down Houston a few blocks to Arturo's. Sure you can find artisanal, wood fired pizzas all around the city, but here at Arturo's, the kitchen uses coal ovens which provide a distinct, salty flavor to the crust. Opened in 1957, Arturo's has an old-school, bohemian feel with pictures on every square inch of the walls and cozy lighting. The restaurant also serves classic Italian-American dishes like clams linguini, mussels in wine, antipasti and the bar stocks a nice selection of wine and beer. Another reason why to visit Arturo's is the live jazz performed nightly, something Lombardi's doesn't have.
