The menu is extensive, and features some classic favorites like Marinara and Margherita, and includes several House Specials. There is also a wide number of delicious toppings that diners can choose from. The desserts are as scrumptious, with treats like Carol's Cannoli, Berries and Cream, and New York Cheesecake. For those who love a combination of crispy and cheesy pizzas and toothsome desserts, Juliana's Pizza is a recommended spot.

L&B Spumoni Gardens

Anytime there is a discussion of the must-have pizza experiences in New York, L&B Spumoni Gardens is one name that comes up. However, this isn't your typical thin crust New York-style pizza, but instead a thick, saucy square Sicilian-style pie. Located in Brooklyn's Bensonhurst neighborhood, Spumoni Gardens has been serving up delicious pizza and Italian food since 1939. Although they do serve up pastas, seafood and other entrees, the main attraction is the pizza. Grab a slice and head out to the large outdoor patio to enjoy, and don't forget to save some room for Spumoni ice cream.

Lucali

Lucali is situated in the Carroll Gardens neighborhood of Brooklyn and specializes in pizzas paired with Italian wines. The striped awning, dim lighting, and classic wooden interiors create a nostalgic aura. The calzones are among the most popular items and are served with the signature sauce, which imparts unforgettable flavors to these Italian delights. The pizzas are topped with ingredients such as Marinara sauce, Mozzarella and Ricotta cheeses, basil, shallots, and pepper. The attractive presentation of the dishes mirrors the unique flavors of the sauce and herbs. This eatery is one of the few restaurants in Brooklyn where guests can savor authentic pizzas in an upscale setting.

Minetta Tavern

Established in 1937, this tavern/restaurant was named after a brook that once flowed through Manhattan from the Collect Pond further north. Step inside, and you get immediately transported to post-depression New York, albeit with a more updated menu. Black and white tiles with dark, wood-paneled walls draw in the crowd. Today, Minetta Tavern is run by Keith McNally, the man behind Pastis and Balthazar. The dinner menu is highlighted by the cuts of beef, such as the dry-aged côte de boeuf served for two and the bone-in New York strip. The menu is seasonal and ever-changing, although you can always have traditional favorites like steak frites and burgers.

Family Meal at Blue Hill

Food connoisseurs believe that the quality of a meal is determined by that of its ingredients. With this philosophy in mind, Blue Hill forms part of a growing trend of like-minded restaurants in New York that insist on using the choicest produce in their kitchens. Dan, David and Laureen Barber inherited the family's farm in Massachusetts from whom it gets its name and inspiration. Its fascinating history is synthesized in the landmark building in Greenwich Village that this place calls home. The creative menu includes marinated beet salad, Berkshire pig's belly, venison liver terrine, grilled celery root risotto and Hudson Valley chicken. Epicureans can dine in the elegant and sophisticated seating area for a five course seasonal tasting menu with artisanal wine.
