Oregon Ducks cornerback Dakoda Fields intends to enter the transfer portal, per sources
Just days after receiving the news that Oregon Ducks cornerback Jahlil Florence , a former four-star, intends to enter the transfer portal, another cornerback has joined him.
This time, it's fellow four-star Dakoda Fields , who announced his plans to enter the portal this morning.
Fields was the 11th-ranked cornerback in the 2024 class and has amassed just one tackle during his time with the Ducks, coming in Week 1 of the 2025 season against Montana State . Standing 6-foot-2, and 198 pounds, Fields has all the physical traits to compete at the Division-I level yet was beaten out for starting jobs by Brandon Finney Jr. and Ify Obidegwu , along with sitting behind several other highly talented players on the depth chart.
The competition for snaps wasn't going to get easier, as 2025 five-star Na'eem Offord and four-star Dorian Brew along with incoming 2026 five-star Davon Benjamin gave the cornerback room plenty of depth and talent. Head coach Dan Lanning has also dipped into the portal to add to that position, as he did with Northwestern's Theran Johnson and Ole Miss ' Jadon Canady ahead of this season.
Per On3 Sports, Fields is no longer with the team. He will have three years of eligibility remaining after redshirting in 2024.
