Walker tied Willson Contreras for the first-round lead with 13 home runs. Ten traveled at least 420 feet, including a 470-foot drive that demonstrated the 24-year-old outfielder's raw strength. Under MLB's new format, hitters received 20 swings in the opening round and 15 in each subsequent round.
The Cardinals slugger advanced again by defeating Junior Caminero in the semifinals. The right fielder needed six homers to surpass Caminero's five and earn a championship matchup against Philadelphia Phillies star Kyle Schwarber .

"Jordan ALEX WALKER

Walker then explained that the nickname comes from his middle name, Alexander:
"Everyone calls me Alex."
The personal detail offered fans another connection to Walker, but his performance remained the night's defining story. Facing a Phillies crowd firmly behind Schwarber, the rising star maintained his relaxed approach as the final became a demanding chase.
Schwarber hit 11 home runs in his 15 swings, forcing Walker to rally late. Walker responded by homering on his final six swings, completing a 12-11 victory in one of the Derby's most dramatic finishes.

The win made him the first Cardinals player to claim the Derby title, capping a memorable night for the first-time MLB All-Star.
St. Louis left Philadelphia with more than a trophy. Walker's breakthrough has further established him as one of baseball's emerging attractions, while the Alex revelation added a light, personal touch to his signature moment.
