FOXBOROUGH - Did Broncos coach Sean Payton serve up some juicy bulletin board material for Mike Vrabel ahead of their AFC Championship showdown Sunday?
Payton posted a message for Broncos fans on Wednesday, something that has been his custom ahead of home games.
Payton put it out that the team and fandom was “going to have plenty of rest after this one. Two weeks.”
That sure sounded like a cocky coach looking past the Patriots . That implies Payton believes his team will win and enjoy the two-week gap between the championship game and the Super Bowl.

Perhaps Payton was kidding, or he was taken out of context, but the message has made its way back to New England .
Vrabel was asked about it at his Thursday presser and if he believed in bulletin board material in wake of Payton’s remarks.
“I think we’re plenty motivated for the game. I think our players are continuing to build confidence through the week,” Vrabel said. “I’m really excited to go out there and play.”
Given Vrabel’s history, with past Patriots teams who were fueled by slights - including this one - it’s not a leap to assume he’ll take advantage of Payton’s remark in some way.
He’ll plant the disrespect seed.
It worked last week when the Patriots defense was extra motivated because the Texans defense was getting all of the attention.
