Speaking in a clip shared on the New England Patriots' YouTube channel , Maye explained how surprised he has been by the attention his wife has received since his rise in New England .
He said, "I'm more surprised at how much people have embraced my wife. It's been so cool to see her story and what it's been like for her.
"She's the one out at restaurants having to take pictures. And I'm the one laughing in the back."
The comment reflected how quickly life has changed for the couple. While Maye handles game plans and pressure on the field, Ann Michael has found herself navigating sudden public attention off it.
Maye's tone was light, but the moment captured something genuine about the shift that comes with NFL stardom. For him, the experience has been as much about sharing the journey as it has been about individual success.
Maye went on to describe how that attention has followed them into stadiums on game days.
"At games, walking around the stadium, it's awesome for her. She's getting bombarded," the Patriots QB said. "That's really special for the fan base and for us to share the same journey and be in the spotlight together."
The quarterback framed the experience as something positive rather than overwhelming. Instead of viewing the attention as intrusive, Maye emphasized how it has helped connect him and his wife more closely to the fan base.
For Patriots supporters, Ann Michael has become part of the broader story of Maye's emergence. That connection matters in a city where quarterbacks are not just players, but symbols.
Maye's comments also offered a glimpse into how grounded he remains despite the rapid rise. By highlighting his wife's experience rather than his own, he shifted focus away from stats and expectations.
It reinforced the idea that this season has been about growth on and off the field. As the spotlight continues to intensify, Maye appears comfortable with sharing it.
