Mike McDaniel is out.
I guess it's not a surprise.
It is kind of a surprise he had to wait until Wednesday.
Or no, what, what's today?
Thursday... To do it, though.
Well, it was the reverse Michael Corleone, right?
Yeah, exactly.
Just when I thought I was in, They pushed me back out.
They pushed me back out.
When I thought I kept my job.
After you... Yeah, you thought you kept your job.
I was shown the door.
You had your press- you had your press conference, and it was like, "Oh, we're moving forward."
And then, no.
Uh, you know, John Harbaugh becomes available and we re-scramble everything.
And here we go.
Do you think that's what it truly is?
Like, the simplest explanation is John Harbaugh's available.
Or is it more like, "Hey, we're interviewing GM candidates and we're asking them what they Think of our coach.
And now, maybe after a couple of days, there's Some of that, sure.
...
They're like, "Eh, maybe not."
Yeah.
Yeah, I mean, Um, there's certainly some of that.
You don't know, Uh, I think maybe what's the full hand you're gonna be dealt if you're Stephen Ross as you're Coming down the stretch, and you're making the decision on whether you're going to keep Mike McDaniel or not.
You don't know what other quar- uh, Head coaches are going to become available.
You don't know who potential GM candidates are, are going to say to you regarding the process, what they feel like with Mike McDaniel.
There were still talks that Ross had to have with Mike.
Mike McDaniel, so I don't think all of the information was necessarily on the table.
But when you not only do it after John Harbaugh becomes available, And then, a potential GM alignment candidate suddenly appears on your Your GM interview list and advances into, at least right now, What would be considered the Final Four, and everybody seemingly knows... Look, John Harbaugh wants some juice in the front office.
Like, he... he...
It wasn't like it was awful in, In Baltimore with Eric DeCosta or Ozzie Newsome, but, You know, he...
There were times where he felt like he wanted a little more influence on the personnel side of things and didn't necessarily always have it.
It's interesting that the Miami Dolphins, having that GM position open and, Deciding to push Mike McDaniel out the door and then add a new GM, Uh, adding a candidate to the mix is certainly interesting.
