We've kind of talked about Drake Maye being so cool, calm, and collected, But last night was, I think, the biggest bullet point on Drake Maye's resume.
That he is just truly unflappable.
Nothing seems to faze him.
And it's one thing to do it against the bottom feeders of the NFL.
Right?
Like it's one thing for the Patriots to beat up On the Jets, to beat up on the Bengals, to beat up on the Giants, To beat up on the Saints, to beat up on the Titans.
Like all those things are great and all, but for Drake Maye to be, as you said, Down double digits in the fourth quarter, and just be able to deliver throw after throw after Throw, like in a have-to-have-it moment.
You're down three, and what does Drake Maye do?
Orchestrates a nine-play, 89-yard drive, in just the nick of time to put the Patriots In position to win a football game.
And we just saw the MVP odds up there, Matthew Stafford is the overwhelming favorite, but Drake Maye is second.
Are the odds right?
Is Drake Maye the second most deserving?
Quarterback or player in the National Football League to get in MVP considerations?
Because I think for Drake Maye to have like a plus 165, and Josh Allen to be in the thousands, I think that's maybe aaa little bit of a overreaction.
Yeah, no, it feels like we love sparkly new toys, right?
Yeah.
Right.
And we're just, we've normalized what Josh Allen does, and so... That's not to take away from anything that What Drake has done in here.
That's one of the hard parts about MVP.
Candidacycandidacy conversation is so often fans want to make it.
"Well, you hate this player," I think we can acknowledge that Drake Maye... Is absolutely having a spectacular otherworld Oh my God, season.
Drake Maye has answered every question that a young quarterback can answer.
Drake Maye in Season Two has just absolutely grown, and Josh McDaniels has done a great job With him.
Heshes fixed some of the little things.
Thatthat ail him when he got in the game from the college level and just his ability to Climb the pocket, keep his mechanics tight, throw the football from every angle.
Like Drake Maye is doing absolutely everything, you want your franchise quarterback to do.
I can say all of these things and then just say that I still think Josh Allen is having a Better year right now.
But that doesn't take away from the fact that Drake Maye is here, and the Patriots are here.
I mean, lookthe Patriots are about to take on over the course of the next couple of weeks, They got the what?
The Jets and the Dolphins.
This Patriots team, if they win the two games, they're favored in, will finish 14 and 3.
Like, I know Vegas and Buffalo are gonna be good.
So impressive.
But 14 and three?
Like, yeah, that's gonna put you in MVP Conversation if you're quarterback of the 14 and 3 New England Patriots.
