Mason Taylor has kinda just gotten- lost in the wash. Like just- Yep weirdly, Jets were kind of a dead team to everybody, I understand.
Also just other tight ends were a little more fun from that class.
When you're in a class with Colson Lovell and Tyron Warren and Harold Fannin, just to name three, yeah, you kinda just get lost as another guy.
Mason Taylor to me, though, was, a, a guy that I thought was just very smooth, very, efficient receiver in college at LSU, steady Eddie, underneath mid-level receiver.
And I thought-- I projected him as maybe a better blocker than he was in college.
I thought he was kind of a, what I call a shield blocker.
But as a rookie in, in the league, I was m- I'm much more bullish on him, and I was a guy that was already pretty bullish on him as a, a, overall.
Mm-hmm.
I really do think that he held up in line and also was a plus blocker at times as the season went along.
He's very young.
He's got NFL pedigree, as well, his dad and uncle.
But also too is that he has enough receiving ability, and on top of it, Kenyan Sadiq, who I know is the other tight end, I know they have a bunch of young mouths to feed.
Kenyan Sadiq has already been battling a hernia.
Also, young tight end- that's more receiving only, even if he is a gritty blocker that tries.
Mason Taylor to me, and I said this to you I think the other day, was there, there, there's some glimpses of like Jason Witten here of all people, which is so funny.
Yeah.
We just talked about him earlier in the show.
It's interesting.
Like there's just something, there's a, a, a timeline where he hits that, where he is just that good receiver, good blocker.
Not elite, but just good at everything, stays on the field for 80% of the snaps, and just kinda is always valuable in that sense.
So I'm bullish on Mason Taylor, not only just this year, but dynasty-wise as well.
I'm kinda, kinda rebuying back into him as he kinda, kinda got lost on the wayside.
He is a completely forgotten about man.
People just- Yeah have moved on to Sadiq and the whole deal, but yeah, I, I feel like he's gonna play a lot.
Well, and especially now that Sadiq's banged up.
I've even then felt like he was going to play a lot this year.
It's so interesting to think about that Jets rookie class.
Like someone's getting squeezed for snaps, I think- Yes whether it's Sadiq or Omar Cooper Jr.
So we'll see about that.
Obviously, Sadiq behind the eight ball with the injuries.
