Jets shouldn't play Sadiq in Week 1 after setback
Kyle Dvorchak explains why Kenyon Sadiq shouldn't be in a rush to play for the New York Jets in Week 1, highlighting that Mason Taylor is on the roster and that he still needs to get reps to adjust to the NFL.

Jets rookie tight end and first round pick Kenyan Sadiq suffered a setback following hernia surgery in the offseason.
This comes directly from the head coach Aaron Glenn.
Sadiq underwent that surgery early in the offseason.
It caused him to miss time during the offseason program, that being OTAs and minicamp, was expected to be ready for the start of training camp and briefly was ready at the start of training camp.
But then he suffers this setback.
Right now, Aaron Glenn said he is confident he'll be ready for week one.
But I do think coaches say that early on in the process and things change.
I mean, things have already changed once with this setback.
If he doesn't suffer any further setbacks, I do think week one is a realistic outcome for Sadiq.
But if say he ends up needing surgery to fix this issue, that could cost him months.
Either way, the lack of offseason reps is already going to be a concern for a player playing position tight end.
That's generally been very difficult for players coming from the college to pro level to make that transition.
I think any hopes of really being a week one breakout have kind of gone out the door right now.
The Jets also have their second round pick from last year, Mason Taylor, pretty able to fill a starting traditional tight end role.
So they don't need Sadiq right away.
I still have some hope that Sadiq could be a late half, you know, second half of the season, late breakout type player as a rookie.
But at this point, the fact that I don't think we're getting any production in September, really, maybe not even October, I'm comfortable taking him off my draft boards.
