Taylor Twellman discusses why the United States' loss to Turkiye was not meaningless.

You see Christian Pulisic get nutmegged, then bad man marking on the back post, and then all of a sudden Turkiye wins the game 3-2.
So that's a tough one.
And the players last night, I can promise you this, that leaves a bitter taste in your mouth.
However, it's a great reminder of the better quality competition you will find in the knockout stage.
Turkiye, which I said before the tournament started, would be the best attacking team that the United States would face in the group.
They proved that.
They've got young players, some playing at Real Madrid and some of the biggest clubs in the world.
Now, I think Pochettino may not like the answers he got about some of the second team players, for lack of a better way to put it, but he got answers.
And so I said this all day yesterday, is that even though the result was inconsequential, the game was not meaningless because Mauricio Pochettino needs some answers to the depth of this team, who's capable of answering the call, who's ready for the situation.
And I still go back to the point I've brought up now with you guys for almost two and a half weeks.
We still don't know about the back line.
