When Cody Campbell tweeted "I'm gonna go buy us a better offensive line," that was the blueprint.
Texas Tech made a conscious decision to go all-in on the portal and invest in high school recruiting at the same time. The portal class delivered a Big 12 title. Money holds classes together. (via College Football Enquirer)

They are number two in the Rivals ranking for the class of '27 right now.
They have the number one overall prospect.
Like, they, they made a, a conscious deci- it's the same, like, the same conscious decision they made when Cody Campbell tweeted at that person, "I'm gonna go buy us a better offensive line."

and then they- had that transfer portal class last year that resulted in the Big 12 title.
They also- Yeah at the same time made a commitment to doing it at the high school level.
It just takes longer.
And- Yeah you're gonna see that come to fruition come signing day in December for Texas Tech, and it sounds l- a- and you saw it for U- for USC this past signing day where, y- you know, when they, they hired Chad Bowden, their GM, away from, from Notre Dame, and USC said, "We are going to recruit the best high school class in the country," and then they went out and did thanks to- as Ross pointed out, a significant investment.
And it held.

So the fact that money is, is bolstering this- gives you a chance to, to hold.
