Jack Alexy was the clear favorite, at least for me.
He looked very strong coming home.
Good stroke rate, you know, he wasn't spinning his wheels or trying too hard.
He had a very strong kick.
It almost looked like he was swimming a 200 freestyle, just really smooth and powerful.
So getting that 47.1, I think that puts him as the fastest American in, for the year, honestly.
And most notably, Caeleb Dressel swam a 47.7 for comparison back at nationals, which after Jack Alexy and Chris Juliano, that probably drops Dressel down in the seventh range, eighth range of 100 freestylers, but we know that's not his best event.
But we know he's very popular, so it's good for the fans to have some comparison.
But USA going one-two, Patrick Salmon, with a 47.6.
But this is a race that's gotten so fast globally, 'cause right now at European Championships, you had three guys go under 47.
You had David Popovici, former Olympic champion in that race, go 46 mid.
You had Kristf Milk, the Hungarian butterflier, go 46, which was a surprise.
So it's gonna be a tough road.
Yeah, for su- most certainly.
