Achane will still be 'centerpiece' for Miami

Espn's Adam Schefter has reported the Dolphins have informed teams that Devin Achan is not on the trade block.
Denny Carter, as you know, this is usually the first step towards someone being on the trade block.
The Dolphins claiming they don't want to trade him to thereby create interest in potentially trading for him.
They've gotten rid of almost everyone else.
Achan's kind of the last man standing.
He's definitely the last man standing in fantasy football.
Fantasy superstar.
What are the odds Achan is actually on this Dolphins roster come week one?
I actually, Pat, I think they're pretty good odds that Achan is on this roster come week one and is the centerpiece of a run-first, run-heavy Miami Dolphins offense.
I say that because throughout the past couple months with the former Packers brass taking over the Dolphins front office and coaching staff, they have said over and over they see Devon Achan as a foundational kind of player.
They didn't really say that about Jalen Waddell.
In fact, in a couple press conferences, they had to be reminded that, hey, Jalen Waddell's also on the roster.
Is he going to be on the roster?
And they said, oh, yeah, yeah, that guy too.
So I do think Achan is a guy they're serious about keeping.
Now, if a team, if a running back needy team, a contender, comes to them and knocks their socks off with an offer, I wouldn't be surprised if they trade him.
I don't know if that's going to happen, though.
You're correct that if they're bowled over, they might trade Devin Achan.
But keeping him makes more sense than I think people realize where you got rid of most people.
It's obviously a rebuilding year.
They're not trying to contend.
But you can't get rid of all your good players and make it so it's impossible to evaluate anyone on the roster.
There has to be some baseline of competitive football.
Devin Achan would help provide that.
