Should the Bears Consider Trading for Dolphins Running Back De'Von Achane?
The Miami Dolphins appear to be entering a full rebuild after trading away wide receiver Jaylen Waddle, so does that mean running back De'Von Achane is also available for the right price?

Should the Chicago Bears be interested in Miami Dolphins running back Devon Achan?
Let's talk about that in today's video.
My name is Nicholas Moriano from Roundtable Sports.
The Miami Dolphins are in a full-on rebuild, especially with the trade they just made to the Denver Broncos, sending wide receiver Jalen Waddell for a first-round draft pick and some change.
And when you think about what is still on that team at this point for the Miami Dolphins, Devon Achan is the first name and maybe the only one that comes up that other teams could be interested in right now.
And if you're Ryan Poles and you're looking to look at all areas of your football team and find upgrades, it's hard to argue that Devon Achan wouldn't be an upgrade over DeAndre Swift.
And yes, Swift had a career of the year last year for the Chicago Bears in the first year of Ben Johnson's offense.
Really good pairing with seventh-round draft pick Kyle Munongai.
But Achan brings a whole new level of explosiveness to the running back position.
Achan finished last season with 40 runs of 10 or more yards.
That was the third most in the NFL.
He also had 1,350 yards, eight touchdowns on 238 attempts.
But he's also a capable playmaker in the passing game, catching 67 passes for 488 yards and four scores.
This is a guy, when you match him up speed for speed against somebody that Ben Johnson's really familiar with, Jameer Gibbs, Devon Achan is actually a smidge faster when it comes to the 40-yard dash.
The Dolphins running back ran a 4-3-2 40-yard dash in the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine.
That same combine, Jameer Gibbs was there.
He ran a 4-3-6.
I mean, we're talking milliseconds of time here.
But that just shows you the type of explosiveness that Devon Achan does bring to the position and what he could potentially do in a very run-oriented offense in Chicago.
Now, things you have to consider, like why would the Bears want to do this and why would the Dolphins want to make this trade?
Well, like I said with the Dolphins, fire sales going on there in Miami.
Looking to trade away assets, get draft capital in return.
And if you're the Chicago Bears, look, both of those running backs, Achan and Swift, are going into the last years of their deals.
Achan in his rookie deal and then Swift on his contract.
Maybe you're looking to upgrade at the position and you're looking to do a long-term contract with Achan as opposed to somebody like Swift.
Maybe that makes sense.
But here's also the biggest question.
What would it take to get a deal done?
And that's where I think it gets really interesting because you're seeing a lot of these trades that have happened in this free agency cycle get more in return than maybe we've seen in years past.
And to me, I'm thinking it at least takes one of Chicago's second-round draft picks, either 57 or 60.
And it could easily require just more than that.
And I think it would.
So when I factor all this into the equation, what it would take, you would have to sign Achan to a longer contract.
You're not just going to do this for a year.
It's a lot to commit to.
And I get it.
I understand that Achan in this offense would do some amazing things.
However, the Bears did just prove that they can find running back talent in the draft.
They did so with Kyle Munongai in the seventh round.
Therefore, I think the Bears should stay out of this.
You could give, you know, the Dolphins a call, but I just think it would take too much to get a deal done.
