After a down year following his breakout freshman season, the Alabama wide receiver has added more than 25 pounds of muscle while maintaining elite athleticism. With a 40+ inch vertical, 11-foot-2 broad jump, 465-pound squat and 295-pound power clean, Coleman-Williams has the physical tools to make a major impact for Alabama in 2026. Bruce Feldman has released his annual Freaks list, and while two Alabama Crimson Tide players rank ahead of Ryan Coleman-Williams, we're gonna start with him first, and here's why.
As a lot of people know, Ryan Coleman-Williams is coming off what he would even label as a down year after he burst onto the scene as a true freshman in 2024.
We spoke to him at the SEC Media Days and I asked him what went into some of the changes this off season, whether it be his name, his number, he got engaged, he stayed in Tuscaloosa instead of going back home.
And he essentially said, "Sometimes you gotta shake things up."
He is going for a rebranded image.
He is going to go out here and show everybody that he's still Ryan Coleman-Williams, but he's a newer, a better, and apparently, if you read this excerpt from Bruce Feldman, a bigger, a bigger and stronger version.
And I think that that's what stands out the most, is that Ryan Coleman-Williams came to Alabama, came to Tuscaloosa out of Mobile at six foot, 160 pounds.
He has now ballooned up to over 185 pounds, has put on a solid 25 pounds of muscle in his, you know, two, three years of real work, if you really think about how many years go into a freshman versus sophomore versus junior off season.
He's put on over 25 pounds of lean muscle and he's still very lean, but it's some of the power numbers.
He improved his squat to 465 pounds and his power clean to 295 pounds.
His jump numbers are elite, an over 40 inch vertical, 11'2" broad, and I think that you're going to see all of this on display this season for Ryan Coleman-Williams.
I mean, what we've been able to gather, whether it was spring ball, whether it's the early goings of fall camp, whether it's the chemistry that he's building, what he said that he's going to do while at the SEC Media Days, I think Ryan Coleman-Williams is gonna bounce back in a big way, and I think that this list, this ranking, these numbers from Bruce Feldman on the Freaks list just further prove that.
