John, your thoughts on the Angels.
Finally, Arte Moreno is out of there.
Well, not fully, but out of there.
I thought that this is the best thing that could happen to Angel fans possible.

This is the This is another good thing that is happening to Southern California sports.
'Cause I'm not as, you know, fired up about him taking over the team.
I'm, I'm fired about what he's going to do for the team, what he's going to do for the fan base.
I honestly believe he's going to build the best baseball stadium known to man.
Period.
End of story.
My, right now, I If you take history out of it, Petco Park, to me, is the best ballpark in baseball.
I think his goal is to dwarf that.
He did it with a football stadium.
The second they give him a chance to build a basketball stadium, he's gonna do that with a basketball stadium.
Starting with the baseball.
Like, he has proven, him and his group, they know how to run sports teams.
And not only do they know how to run sports teams, they know how to profit off of them, and they know how to treat the fans with a product that they all can wrap their arms around.
That's why, to me, you got The Angels just hit the owner jackpot.
Like, as excited as Padre fans were about who bought their team, I think the Angels fans have far more, I, I don't wanna say credibility behind the person who bought their team, but they've got far more of a track record to see- Yeah that he's won a championship everywhere he's bought.
So that lets you know that the Angels are not far behind when it comes to becoming a competitive ball club again, and no longer a laughing stock that became a money pit of Arte Moreno.
Yeah, this is probably the one thing.
I- if, if someone were to ask me, "What is the first thing that the Angels should do if they wanna turn the tide, if they wanna change things in Anaheim?"
And I would say, "Well, you gotta remove Arte Moreno and get a new owner.
Somebody has to buy that team."
Check.
And th- check.
Big, the biggest hurdle, in my opinion, was that.
Big check, by the way.
A huge Yeah, huge check.
Over 3.9 billion.
John, what do you think of that number?
3.9 bill- it's more than the Padres.
Because of what he got.
Because of what the, he If, to my understanding of the purchase is he got the surrounding land as well.
And I think when you, when you, when you get your arms around something like that, because also remember, Stan Kroenke is trying to develop land here locally in San Diego as well.
The Mission Rising project, but it's being blocked by a couple of buffoons who block anything that gets built four miles from the water, and they claim that it's a, you know, nature violation of, of whatever.
So he's gonna break, he's gonna beat them too because he can, he's got enough lawyers.
But when it comes to the amount that was paid and what he can do, I, again, I'm more excited on what's gonna be around that ballpark.
I'm more excited about to see what he does after building the stadium, what he puts around it, 'cause I think that's the feature that, made the price of it run up so high, is the land that surrounds the stadium.
Yeah, I, I know that already.
I mean, I, I went to Honda Center, a few, was it a month ago?
Maybe a couple months ago, and that was my first time going in a very long time.
They have redone- You take the tra- you take public transportation or did you drive?
I didn't because you know what I found out?
They have free parking in all those parking garages that they just built.
Well, not for long.
Not for long.
Yeah, probably won't be for long.
But I'm saying- Not for long.
They are, they are rebuilding that entire area.
Regardless if it's- Yeah free parking or not.
They are kinda making, like, their own LA Live in, in Anaheim.
Yes.
And that's kinda the whole goal.
They've renovat- they're in the middle of renovating Honda Center right now for the Ducks.
I mean, I was there when they were still kind of building things, but they are really making that place look nice.
And I can guarantee you that Stan wants to make that, make Angel Stadium connect to it in a certain way in terms of how it looks and the modernism and all that stuff.
And the thing is, John, is that this is a, this is an awesome location.
I think people under- 100%.
People underestimate Southern California.
Like, people think, "Oh, well, it's not Los Angeles, so no one wants to go there."
That is completely untrue.
Orange County is beautiful.
You can have guys live by the beach and drive to Anaheim if they want to.
That's where the money live.
Exactly.
Orange County is beautiful, and it will attract free agents.
There's a reason that Josh Hamilton signed with the Angels, that Albert Pujols did, that CJ Wilson did, that Torii Hunter did.
All of these guys ca- because they s- they probably went on a visit, they're like, "Oh my God, man, this place is beautiful."
Nobody talks about Anaheim.
Yeah.
And, and the thing is, like you said, if it does include the land, which I hope it does for the sake of the Angels, 'cause I know that the Kroenke Sports & Entertainment Group, they're gonna do everything possible to get that place up to the level of Denver and the Avalanche and Arsenal and all these teams.
So I think this is just a phenomenal, phenomenal sell.
Because I, I said this on, on FOX LA, John, is that you have to sell to the right person.
Correct.
You can't just sell it to some Like, look at the Lakers.
They sold it to Kushner and Iger.
Look at Portland.
It's like, ah, who knows?
