So even if, I don't know, God forbid, this Brent Suter signing blows up in the Angels' face, I mean, you're not losing any sleep over one year, $1.25 million.
Brent Suter individually destroys this entire franchise in one season.
It'd, it'd be impressive for a pitcher to have that much of an effect on a team.
That would be awesome.
Shout out to- A relief pitcher Right.
Jordan Romano.
Oh, God.
My Canadian GOAT.
Phillies legend.
Angels legend now, by the way.
Oof.
Jordan Romano.
Oof.
I've never seen a walk-off inside the park home run grand slam.
I love asking you this.
I think I've asked you this, like, four times since we've started doing these shows, but as a Phillies fan, Bob, what can Angels fans expect with Jordan Romano?
Nothing but great things, guys.
It's gonna be a great season.
Trust, trust.
You see, I don't know, man.
I don't know.
He was very, very good with Toronto, and then just became, like, not good with, Philadelphia, and I don't know what's up with that.
Negative 1.7 This is last year for Philadelphia- What?
Jordan Romano.
Negative 1.7 WAR, an 8.23 ERA in 49 games.
Son.
That's- Son that's not great.
Folk of grind.
Son of grind.
Folk of grind.
I feel like he could be a valid, like, middle reliever.
For some reason, he just has a tendency to just get walked off on.
I'm sorry, am I reading that right?
Is that an 8 ERA?
Yeah, 8.23 ERA.
Oh, my God.
The talent- Good heavens is, the talent is there, though.
I mean, you look at- He throws well.
Exactly.
He throws hard.
So some of these are 2020, sorry, 1.23 ERA.
2021, 2.14.
2022 and 2023, he was an All-Star both of those years, 2.11 ERA, 2.9 ERA.
Obviously, ERA is not the only thing to be looking at in a pitcher.
It's just the easiest comparable metric, at least right here.
And then 2024, negative 0.3 WAR, 6.59 ERA, and then obviously Philadelphia last season didn't go all that well.
So, I mean, it is interesting to see how Jordan Romano 'Cause again, the talent is there.
We'll see if Jordan Romano can put one foot in front of the other, and as long as Brent Suter isn't 2025 Jordan Romano bad, I don't think the Angels are gonna regret signing him at all.
