There are the odds for Offensive Rookie of the Year.
No surprise, Jeremiah Love, third overall, and a guy who touches the football a lot.
With Fernando Mendoza, that one's a little surprising that he's only four to one because they're giving us vibes he's not gonna play.
There was a spirited conversation between Charles Davis and Daniel Jeremiah on the NFL Network draft coverage.
Davis thinks it's all baloney.
Davis said, basically, "How many times do we have to see this movie?"
Yeah, right.
Mendoza's playing.
Right.
Mendoza's playing, in his opinion.
It's a pretty compelling case.
Yeah, no, it's the same thing I've been saying.
I'll see it I'll believe it when I see it, that Kirk Cousins is just the guy.
I, I 'cause I think Fernando Mendoza's NFL ready.
I think he's gonna be able to handle and digest the playbook as quickly as any rookie we see.
So just with that, and then, you know, the, like we always talk about, you know, so now he knows the offense, he knows the checks, he's doing that, and then guys are gonna sit there and go, "Whoa, did you, did you see that comeback?"
Like, Kirk Cousins is like this, and Fernando Mendoza's like, shwoo.
Right?
So that, that's gonna pop to people.
but yeah, it's about when he gets in there.
And Jeremiah Love, like you said, he's gonna d- have the offense featured around him.
The guy I'd look at on that list though, I mean, a little bit down, is the other running back.
G- gosh damn.
I mean, the Seahawks can run the ball.
They wanna run the ball.
Jadarian Price is awesome.
So if you got extra money in your couch cushion right now, Jadarian Price might be the one I look at to go, ooh.
Because just like you said with Jeremiah Love, he's your running back, he's gonna touch the ball, and I think he's gonna be the starting running back day one, just like Jeremiah Love, and have a tremendous support around him.
Yeah, Zach Charbonnet is the guy who's recovering from the torn ACL- Yeah but it's gonna be Price until Charbonnet is 100%.
Defensively, David Bailey, the first defensive player, second overall, he's the favorite at plus 450.
Reuben Bain Jr., and we didn't talk about this on Friday, I don't think.
Yeah.
When he went past the mirror mirror- Oh, yeah on the wall- Right where they're supposed to pose with their hat, he just grabbed the hat and kept going.
That was a boss move, man.
That was awesome.
I've watched that, like, 50 times this weekend.
He's a boss.
He doesn't give a damn.
He just wants to play football.
He's the most old school guy I've seen come out in the draft in a while.
Didn't give a damn about his hair, right?
Just the, "Screw m- my hair's a little messy.
I don't give a crap."
He's not worried about that.
What Did you heard the story about the number they asked him, right?
Like, "Do you want us to try to get..." He's "I don't give a shit what number you put me in.
It doesn't matter."
I mean, he's got a great attitude.
So, i- we understand, David Bailey, Reuben Bain Jr., yeah, they're gonna be at the top of the list when it comes down to that.
But, you know, does Caleb Downs have a few balls pop in the air and he gets a few interceptions?
Can he get a few strips like that?
Mansoor Delane on a good defense with the Chiefs.
Does he get a few interceptions and become lockdown, right?
So it can go a few different ways here, as far as some of these defensive guys.
And Malachi Lawrence is the one that I would like as my value bet because I think he's a phenomenal pass rusher.
And I think Nick Saban was wrong when he said that was a reach.
M- Malachi Lawrence was going off, somewhere very soon there, right in that range.
That's where the NFL viewed him.
So he'd be one I'd watch out for, too.
And the reality is there aren't many stats that get generated on the defensive side of the ball.
Yeah.
And there may be somebody who deserves it, who is just, you know, FUP the play guy- Right and doesn't get noticed.
Caleb Banks, he's not on here.
He could be- Yeah one of the best defensive rookies this year, and we'll never know it because there isn't that FUP the play stat, although we continue to work on it on an annual basis.
