Training camp, the start of it usually signifies excitement for the upcoming season, and for the Carolina Panthers, they held their first training camp practice today 'cause they'll be playing in the Hall of Fame Game against the Arizona Cardinals.

Unfortunately for the Panthers, who are the Bears' week one opponent on the road in Carolina, the Panthers got some bad news already after just one training camp practice.

Second round draft pick in 2025, Nick Scorton, who was the co-leader in sacks with five last year, went down with an injury, tore his ACL.

His season is officially over.

It's the worst thing that you wanna hear as an NFL team, a fan base, right when training camp opens up.

One of your key players, one of the players that was, showed promising just traits and production from his first year, his rookie season, out for the year with an ACL injury.

And the Bears actually had Shamar Turner play for 10 weeks before he had an ACL injury, and that was Scorton's teammate at Texas A&M.

So that's just a first, though, for the Panthers.

Earlier in the week it was announced that starting right tackle had blood clots in his lungs, and he's actually gonna miss a portion of the early part of the year.

And then also, the starting left tackle for the Panthers also had a torn patellar tendon, similar to Ozzie Newsome, on the same exact day in their playoff loss against the Los Angeles Rams.

Equanime, former number six overall pick in 2022, he's still recovering.

There's no timeline on when he'll return, but as of this moment right now, the Panthers are without their original starting left tackle, right tackle, and defensive lineman in Nick Scorton.

And that's just the NFL.

It's relentless and ruthless, and regardless of what injuries are sustained throughout a season, it must go on.

The Pa- Panthers must adjust and move forward.

And look, they face the Bears on September 13th, their season home opener at Carolina.

Regardless if the Panthers are ready or not, and they will be, given that it's still early on, but it's, doesn't make the job easier, they have to just adjust with who they have.

But that is the, the reality of the NFL.

At any given moment, a injury can happen and changes the trajectory and just what the expectations could ultimately be for a season.

The Bears, they take advantage of having some key starters for the Panthers being out, but the Panthers will have to adjust and be ready for that week one match-up
