Beau Pribula's Impact and Virginia's Offensive Line Success
Beau Pribula excelled on Virginia's offensive line, gearing up for a final game against V Tech. Virginia Tech missed out on acquiring him from the portal.

Looking at Beau Herbula, like Virginia, you talk about that offensive line and how well they played, Bill.
Kind of doing it in a little bit different way, running your quarterback about f- you know, 15 times during the game.
We saw him from Penn State, we saw him at Missouri, got a little nicked up.
In watching him, how well he played, I'm excited to watch that final game of the season when they play VaTech with James Franklin.
And I'm almost a little surprised that Virginia Tech and James Franklin didn't go and try to get him out of the portal and bring him along, given that's a familiar face that probably knew his system pretty well.
Yeah, you know what?
That'll be an interesting revenge game of sorts, no doubt.
You know, when you're running 258 yards on 4.7 yards per carry, and you can just keep hitting them with it.
It was early in the game.
You, you saw the, the matching from the offensive line, the, the just, that they were pushing, NC State all over the place.
And then on top of it, I was disappointed in NC State's offense.
I know obviously, CJ Bailey, coming back, they did lose some, receiver production.
They lost some offensive line production, but they, they looked flat off the shoot.
And then so I'm wondering, "Okay, what does this mean for Dave Dohrn?"
You're not gonna fire a guy after week one, but this is a program that has been eight, nine wins, kinda living in the middle class of college football.
Hasn't been able to break through.
And when you suffer as loss like that in week zero, it can put you behind the eight ball.
So they were a team we had fringe top 25, but it was more about Virginia, like you said, and Herbula.
And I didn't even think about that till you said it.
Yeah, yeah, in that regular season finale, he's gonna see- Penn State, Penn State's coach, Penn State's former quarter- Yeah back, Druckenmiller.
Mm-hmm.
That will be a, interesting game no doubt.
Did you see the experience of that offensive line?
Yeah.
I belie- I believe they have two seventh years, two sixth years, and one fifth year.
So I mean, they've got 10,000 games of experience.
How is that gonna be able to help them down the stretch whenever you're getting to those VaTech games, whenever you're getting to those big time games, and you've got a veteran O line to really lean on in a run game that feels like they really wanna stamp and impress on people?
Yeah, I mean, and then, then that's their identity.
And you know, when you have that kind of experience on that side of the ball, their defense played well as well.
So you know, Tony Elliott might have something.
I think we probably, and myself, I'm definitely guilty of this still, but we probably looked at Virginia as maybe a little bit of a fluke last year.
Not a fluke, I mean, you won the games but, you know, they had a couple overtime wins that you could have gone either way.
They get to the ACC championship, they could have very easily made the playoff and then they lose to Duke.
But maybe, maybe Tony's turned a corner there.
He is a really good coach, he's a really good person, so i- it's good to see Tony Elliot have success.
But, yeah, it, it was definitely one of the stories to me.
And then you slid into the, the other one to me is, not to change the subject, North Dakota State.
That was an amazing environment.
They came out swinging.
They, they took it to Jacksonville State.
I think teams in the Mountain West are gonna have their hands full playing in that FargoDome.
They look like, to do like an Ohio high school comparison, like that Division III or Division IV team that can step up and, and swing with Division I teams every once in a while.
That's kind of who they look like, and, they're pretty good
