Belichick, UNC are 'moving in a bad direction'

College football starts in just two days.
We're gonna get to watch the North Carolina Tar Heels take on and take down TCU in Ireland as the glorious second season of Bill Belichick is a Oh, maybe not.
You know, it's been very quiet, very quiet out of Chapel Hill lately.
It's been a weird time, awkward time.
The GM, Michael Lombardi, is on administrative leave.
There hasn't been anything about that.
Their, their roster isn't nearly as good as it needs to be.
It, it just feels like it's- Yeah it feels like it's moving in a bad direction for Bill Belichick at, at North Carolina.
Well, yeah, we'll, we'll see where it goes.
And, you know, that's, you know, I know they had some success as far as recruiting players and doing stuff like that this off-season.
But, but, as you know, I mean, we've always, I have always, Tom Brady, Gronkowski, they always questioned whether To- Bill Belichick fits college football.
My argument has always been that he can't really install his greatness into a college program because they don't have enough time to learn all the intric- intricacies of all the great defensive game plans he could come up with in the NFL, where, one, he get to handpick guys that he knew, like, could handle and digest all the mental stuff that he was gonna give you, and two, there was no rules.
So guys were Yeah, the defensive guys were in the building for 14 hours a day, and he could go over everything and do all that and put in a lot.
You can't do that in college football.
And then the other aspect is what you keep talking about.
I don't give a damn who you are.
I mean, I was at Texas.
I played for a really good coach in Mack Brown.
We played coaches that were definitely better, X's and O's wise and all that.
It didn't matter.
We had two top five tics, picks at the offensive tackle.
We had a top five running back.
We had a, a NFL, two NFL tight ends.
We had a, a, a second round guard.
We had a top five pick at receiver.
You know?
We had two top first rounder D tackles.
I don't give a shit who was coaching the other team.
They, for the most part, they weren't gonna be able to mess with us because the talent was so much better, and that's such a big part of college football.
