Will Bill Belichick and North Carolina be worse than last season?

We remember what happened in Bill Belichick's debut at North Carolina.
Now, after a drama-filled off season, he enters what will be a pivotal year two, gets it started against TCU in Dublin.
Guys, how much faith and confidence do we have in Bill Belichick right now?
Matt, let's start with you.
Well, the fact that I started laughing when you mentioned Bill Belichick should give you an idea of what I think it's like at North Carolina right now.
You know, what's amazing to me is Belichick was always seen as this great personnel guy who knew players and knew exactly what he needed and how to make everything fit and work.
You got 70 new players the first year, 60 new players the second year.
I'm not g- that good at math, but I can guarantee you that means he missed on a lot of guys in year one.
So I, I They still don't have a quarterback.
They don't have a defensive coordinator now either.
His son apparently is away for whatever reason.
The GM's away because they're investigating him for an HR issue.
There's a lot going on there at North Carolina, and they're playing a really good TCU team that's got a little edge right now, got a little chip on its collective shoulder because Josh Hoover left for Indiana because he wanted to go play for a championship.
And it's a pretty good TCU team that won nine games last year.
So this is gonna be, I hate to say this for North Carolina fans, might even be worse than last year, and last year was abysmal.
John, is it gonna be worse than last year?
That's, it, it would take a lot to be worse than last year.
Well, last year they technically had a defensive coordinator in that game that they gave up 48 points, and they will not, or, or don't right now have a defensive coordinator as they prepare for this opener.
I don't know that it's going to be worse, but I don't think it's going to go North Carolina's way.
I'm not remotely sold.
Hayes stole some of my stats there on how much roster churn there've been.
A- a- and look, that, that's everywhere in a lot of places in college football, whether you were super successful last year or not.
But 60 is still an extremely large number, especially to have brought in 60 new guys and still have as many question marks as they do.
And, GM Lombardi was one of Belichick's first hires.
That's been his guy for a really long time.
You know, he doesn't impact them on game day, but that's just disrupting things in the building.
And then you have, Stephen Belichick out for personal health reasons, and he's been out this entire month basically.
And, we visited with Sonny Dykes last month in, in, Dallas one-on-one at Big 12 Conference Media Days.
He really likes his team, and he does acknowledge that they're playing with a chip on their shoulders, not just from losing Josh Hoover, but, from all the talk in the Big 12 Conference being about Texas Tech and other programs, or BYU, and he sort of feels like the forgotten, forgotten team, forgotten program.
But he has a lot to prove, and he still has a lot of juice in his tank.
