Carlos, I know it's, it's just one series, but, you know, given the, the type of talk had been about how difficult the schedule is about to get for you guys, to have the Braves come in, being as, as good as they've been all year and, and take this series, just how, how big of a deal is that for you guys?
I've been saying it that for us to turn this thing around, we have to start winning series consistently.
it doesn't matter the schedule, the teams.
it's controlling what we can control and playing our, our best baseball here moving forward.
but without getting too far ahead, obviously it's one series at a time, one That's, you know.
but it's good to see the guys playing well against a very good team.
you know, two out of three.
play a close one yesterday, but you gotta turn the page and get ready for another one tomorrow.
but yeah, overall, good series there.
You guys had that stretch a few weeks ago where six straight games, two runs or fewer, and since that time, in the last 16, you're averaging close to five runs per game now.
What, just overall, have you seen as the offense has, has started to come out of it a little bit?
We got a lot of guys, few, few, few more guys putting together some quality at bats.
we saw it today, how many times we got on base because we control the strike zone.
We walk, I think it was seven or eight times today.
every time we're creating traffic, with so many guys that are capable of putting the ball in play and using the whole field, and we, we gonna score runs.
obviously there's some guys that can hit the ball out of the ballpark, but I think it's a combination of a lot of things.
Guys controlling the strike zone a little bit better as of late, we're hitting the ball out of the ballpark, now.
but I think just getting contribution from a lot of people here, and we're gonna need all of them.
Freddy, especially after those, those first few batters, what were you able to do to, to have the type of success you did the rest of the way?
I think, I gotta give credit to, to Luis.
He was amazing giving me the confidence behind the play.
And since the first pitch I was confidence in myself and confidence today without thinking the results that, that are gonna have.
I was feeling really good in general.
Mandy was just saying that he thought early on they were really aggressive with your fastball, and you made a nice adjustment utilizing that changeup.
Just how big of, of an adjustment was that to make in terms of, of the end result?
I think it was big because I was able to, to use not only the change, also the curveball today early.
I came back in counts with using the curveball too, and you know, knowing that they are really good, team in general, and I was able to, to make my pitches and when I needed to.
And it was big.
It was, it was big, and I felt really good about the outing today.
Obviously, I was looking forward to, you know, to at least throw six, but some things happened and I'm making adjustments and I But I feel better.
That feeling out there, you know, having a few big hits, another big win for you guys.
Yeah, it felt awesome.
came in wanting a series win.
That's what we did.
Feels really good.
How about yourself at the plate?
You know, just being able to contribute in that way, showing some power.
What, what did you make of that?
yeah, it feels good to have a little bit of success, and yeah, just kinda stay as simple as possible and don't be someone I'm not.
When it's a team like that in the division and a team that's played really well this year, does it mean something more to you guys to, to take a series from them?
I think we're just trying to win games no matter who we're playing.
So whoever's on the other side, we're just trying to win every series we can.
Any part of you thinking triple in your last at bat there?
no.
I'd say in the heat of the game, I'm just You don't even realize it's happening, so you just stay true.
