What is up, Cubs fans?
And welcome back to Cubs Roundtable.
I'm Joey Polizzi talking about all things Cubs.
And the Minor League season is almost coming to a close here.
The High A and Single A regular season ends just next week, and then Double A and Triple A will end their regular seasons just shortly after that.
But before they do, let's check around the Cubs farm system to see how some of the top prospects in the Cubs system are doing.
The first, Josiah Harnston, and there is not much to say about Harnston's first professional season.
It has been nothing short of spectacular.
He hit his 22nd home run on Friday, continuing his phenomenal 2026 campaign.
Harnston continues to hit the ball well and has shown no signs of slowing down at High A.
The second player, Owen Ayers, who has been one of the biggest risers in the Cubs organization this year, has looked really good this year, a breakout campaign down in the minors.
Numbers were a bit rough at Triple A in early August, but he has since turned it around, batting above 260 with a couple of home runs over the past 10 or so games.
And he just recently had a two run double game-winning hit on Thursday.
So Ayers could be a September call-up for the Cubs.
Third one, Ethan Conrad.
Conrad finally appeared in his first professional game.
Obviously, last year missed the entire season, missed the first half this year due to a back injury.
But Conrad is showing off that silky smooth, buttery swing, and he has really hit the ball well recently, and he'll continue to progress nicely as he gets more reps. And the last player, Caden Serro, who the Cubs just drafted in the second round of the 2026 MLB draft.
Gets a couple of home runs, couple of extra base hits, and has looked good down for the Single A Myrtle Beach.
