DET schedule 'solidifies' Gibbs as fantasy's 1.01
Kyle Dvorchak believes the Detroit Lions' 2026 schedule cements Jahmyr Gibbs as fantasy's No. 1 pick in drafts this upcoming season.

The Detroit Lions have the easiest strength of schedule based on projected opponent's 2026 win total.
This of course comes off the heels of the schedule announcement, and we use 2026 win totals for their opponents instead of 2025 numbers to give us a better, more accurate forecast of how their opponents look after their off-season moves, basically cribbing from sports books to help us get these more, more concrete ideas of what their opponents look like.
I don't really think it matters too much how you cut it.
The Lions are in for a much easier schedule than they were last year, and it's kind of important to me, at least a little bit, that coming off of a true falloff year for the Lions, just nine wins, that they do get an easier schedule.
The previous season they had 15 wins, but they get bounced in their first round of the playoffs.
Actually, the second round, 'cause they got a bye.
The year before that, they make a sprint to the conference championship.
Finally, that falloff comes in 2025, but frankly, a nine-win floor, which is what they had last year, is not that bad of a falloff to have, and now they get rewarded essentially for their struggles with a much easier schedule.
To me, this solidifies one thing, especially for fantasy purposes in my mind.
It's Jahmyr Gibbs as the 101.
I think in general for all Lions, you do just kind of want them to be playing from ahead.
They're a team that keeps their foot on the gas.
They keep scoring fantasy points even when they're ahead.
But that positive game script, especially with David Montgomery gone, is going to do numbers for Jahmyr Gibbs.
To me, he's the clear 101 this summer
