Gibbs a fantasy RB1 favorite with expanded role
Patrick Daugherty and Kyle Dvorchak discuss the positive fantasy outlook for Lions RB Jahmyr Gibbs now that he will no longer have to share a backfield with David Montgomery.

When the Lions traded David Montgomery to the Houston Texans, fantasy managers knew it could only mean good things for Jahmyr Gibbs.
Kyle Dworet, head coach Dan Campbell, has now confirmed as such, saying he wants Gibbs to assume a, quote, "bell cow role" in the Lions' offense.
Kyle, Gibbs was already the RB3 overall by both total and average PPR points last season, so there's really not even that much more room to grow in fantasy football.
But we now know he's one of the favorites, if not the favorite, to finish as the RB1 overall.
What would you put his odds of finishing as the RB1 overall at?
it's probably low 'cause you tweak your ankle once a- and you, and you miss out on the RB1 overall finish.
But among all the options we have, I think he's the best bet, and I think this is the part that might be a little controversial.
I don't think it's that close.
Right now in drafts, fantasy managers are still doing some debate between Bijan Robinson and Jahmyr Gibbs as the RB1 overall.
To me, if I'm in a draft at the 101, 10 times out of 10 I'm taking Jahmyr Gibbs.
This isn't a perfectly representative sample.
We've had about six games over the past few years since Jahmyr Gibbs entered the NFL where he plays without David Montgomery.
He's averaged 27 PPR points per game.
He looks like peak Christian McCaffrey without David Montgomery there.
Now, I know they've replaced David Montgomery with Isaiah Pacheco.
I don't think he fulfills that entire role.
I do think right now Jahmyr Gibbs should just be the 101 with a bullet in all drafts.
Just more questions, too, for Bijan and Atlanta, where they're undergoing a full-sail rebuild for the Falcons.
The Lions have a new offensive coordinator.
Still Dan Campbell, still Jared Goff, still the same offense.
Jahmyr Gibbs looking like by far the best bet to finish as the RB1 overall in fantasy football.
