What's up, Lions Nation?
Today, we got a fun article in store.
I decided what it would look like if the Lions combined their best offensive weapons, and to be honest, it's pretty dang good.
And don't get me wrong, there are definitely some better teams out there, probably like the Steelers, maybe the Patriots, I don't know, some Braves, and some of those legendary teams.
But regardless, the Detroit Lions have a pretty dang good team.
Could you imagine Barry Sanders taking handoffs from Matthew Stafford, while Calvin Johnson runs routes, and Jahmyr Gibbs is playing running back in the slot?
Yes, I included Jahmyr Gibbs.
I had a tough decision to make, and I'll just break the news early.
I didn't put Herman Moore on this list.
He is absolutely worthy of being on this list.
If you go three wide receivers, he's on the list, locked and loaded.
But I decided to go two running backs.
I felt like I just could not leave off Jahmyr Gibbs.
Obviously, Barry Sanders is the lock of all- of locks, and I need a spot for Jahmyr Gibbs.
And I think he would be a little more beneficial than Herman Moore in a weird way, but, that was my decision.
Obviously, we have guys like Calvin.
The offensive line is pretty dang good.
You got some new faces in there, like Frank Ragnow, Penei Sewell.
Not gonna spoil it all.
Tight end was pretty easy, to be honest, and I wonder if you, you know, young listeners, young readers, can figure out who the best tight end in Lions history is, because it's kind of obvious.
It's not Sam LaPorta.
We, we have a true star.
next article I'll be posting will be the all-time defense.
So we got offense and defense, and in the defense, I included special teams, such as punter and kicker.
Kicker was pretty easy.
I think we should all know that one.
Punter, pretty easy too, but there were a couple guys that made some decent cases.
If you like stats, if you like reminiscing in the fifties, we got a lot of guys from the fifties, from the offensive line, the defensive line, guys that were the foundation of the Detroit Lions.
