Got a interesting contract article today.

As you guys know, we inked Aidan Hutchinson last year during the season, Jaymo before the season started.

We locked down, you know, Kerby Joseph in the off-season.

got a couple years ago, Penny Sewell, St. Brown, Goff, all big contracts.

Now, who is next?

Who's the next player to get a big contract?

And, you know, it's interesting because obviously we think Jahmyr Gibbs.

It's gotta be Gibbs.

But Gibbs still has two more years left on his rookie deal, so the Lions technically don't have to re-sign him.

Now, this could be a trick question.

There could be two guys this off-season, which I definitely think is gonna be the case, that get contract extensions.

You also gotta factor in dudes that are on their last year, like Brian Branch and Sam LaPorta, two players that I absolutely would love to extend, but also Branch dealing with an Achilles injury and Sam LaPorta dealing with a back injury.

Now, I think LaPorta's injury is less significant than the Achilles tear, obviously, but what is that gonna do for the Detroit Lions?

Are we gonna tag one of them?

Because that's certainly an option, but the fourth guy in mind is Jack Campbell.

Same deal as Jahmyr Gibbs, both All-Pro caliber players.

I know Gibbs has yet to make an All-Pro team, but we have seen how talented Jahmyr Gibbs is.

He is an All-Pro player.

He is a top three running back in this league, and he will get to the All-Pro list eventually.

he's just gotta compete with some tough names like, you know, Bijan Robinson, CMC, Jonathan Taylor, James Cook.

There's a lot more tougher names at running back than there is linebacker, where Jack Campbell made First Team All-Pro.

So who gets the nod next for a big contract extension?

Is it gonna be Gibbs resetting the running back market, getting something more than what Saquon got?

Is it gonna be Jack Campbell, who made his first First Team All-Pro last season in just his third year?

Or is it gonna be guys on their fifth year, where if we don't sign them this year, they're going to be a free agent next year?

So it'll be interesting to see.

I'm gonna go with my gut, and I think it's gonna be Jahmyr Gibbs.

I think we sign Jahmyr Gibbs to a big deal this off-season.

We lock him down.

Brad Holmes loves him, and then I think we go after either Branch or LaPorta, just to make sure we have one of the two locked down.

So let me know what you think.

This isn't a kn- knack at, Jack Campbell or Branch or LaPorta.

I just think that Brad Holmes simply loves Jahmyr Gibbs.
