Sneaky team on the rise here in the National League West.
Probably not gonna win the division, so I'm not sure how aggressive they get, Tom.
But it seems to me that the Diamondbacks are one of those teams every year that around the trade deadline, boom, they pull off some massive trade.
So I'm gonna look for them also to see what they end up doing here, and they took care of business against Pittsburgh.
They've already won the series against Cleveland, and this is really without any good starting pitching going for, Arizona- like, right now.
I, I'm not saying that Arizona's a World Series contender, Tom, but I, I really, I've said this for a while, I really think that they have a great opportunity to capture one of those wildcard spots.
I do too, and, and i- listen, I If the Diamondbacks go on the road, and what, what would the wildcard matchups be?
I'm just, you know, looking just quickly off the top of my head.
But if, if the Diamondbacks were to go on the road and, like d- do we even- They face the Cubs do you take the Diamondbacks, yeah, to face the Cubs.
Like, do we like the Diamondbacks in that series?
Now, granted- Probably.
Probably both teams are flawed.
Probably.
Right, both teams are flawed.
Probably.
But also, like, Casey Mize could be a good fit for the Diamondbacks.
Like, they need that frontline pitching, which they don't have.
And you said this recent series against the Guardians, they have not had quality pitching going yet.
Just not just big names.
They're calling up younger players.
They need innings out of them.
Brandon Pfaadt's been, you know, injured, and he's been up and down.
Ryan Nelson's finally back.
He's been up and down.
Zac Gallen hasn't been good.
Merrill Kelly hasn't been amazing.
Eduardo Rodriguez has been absolutely great for them this season, but they just need a little bit more, and they will be a team worth backing because as we talk about the Cubs, they are a complete rollercoaster of a team.
And the, the Diamondbacks as being underdogs at Wrigley Field in that series would be very interesting if we're projecting that far ahead.
Yeah.
Can you imagine if Corbin Burnes comes back in September for them- I mean- and all of a sudden joins that rotation all of a sudden, then maybe Gallen is healthy and better, and Merrill Kelly.
Man, that's not a bad team at all
