Both teams right now are sitting either in the wild card spot or on the verge of the wild card spot in the National League.

And the funny thing is looking at these pitching match-ups, Tom, is I have a feeling like a lot is gonna change before we see this series play out next week.

I mean, San Diego basically is going with openers and bulk guys almost every day.

I don't know how the Padres got to this point, but that's what they're doing.

So one of these four games here, you're gonna see Sears pitch.

That's what they do.

Mm-hmm.

He pitches bulk.

Could be for ba- in the back of Marquez or Vasquez.

Buehler's not even that great anymore.

So Padres have to figure out how they're gonna even get through the season, let alone the postseason.

And for Arizona, look what they're doing.

They're starting Brad and Drake.

I mean, you would think that that will change for Arizona as well with the, some of the injuries that they have had.

But look, this could be a series where one team takes the clear advantage in the wild card standings after the other, but most likely what happens, a split or one team wins three out of four- Yeah as they sort of battle it out this week.

Yeah, really, really interesting spot for the Diamondbacks because they, the series versus the Padres, they also have a series versus, the Dodgers after that.

So they need s- need some help.

We talked about, you know, the, the Dod- the Diamondbacks kind of beating down the Guardians over the weekend.

You know, Brat and Drake started some of those games, and these are pitchers that do not have a whole lot of MLB experience.

And you know, again, there are reports out there that Diamondbacks are looking for another starting pitching.

So some of these could change, you know, depending on if the trade happens, when that player actually gets there and is available.

But I see the Diamondbacks as having the advantage in this series, and I would be looking at some, some lower scoring games.

I think hopefully this plays out as a postseason type series.

That's what I wanna see just because of the intensity of what the teams need.

But it's gonna be a fun one.
