Eagles Tell Saquon Barkley He Won't Be Traded Amid Six-Game Skid
Saquon Barkley says the Philadelphia Eagles have assured him he will not be traded before the deadline. He shared the news after a 27-10 loss to the Washington Commanders, with Philadelphia now on a six-game losing streak. The 29-year-old 2024 Offensive Player of the Year has two years left on his contract, and his 2025 extension made him the highest-paid running back at the time. He says he wants to help fix the team's problems rather than leave. A stinger, a hamstring injury and a back injury have cost him two games and forced him out of three others early. He played just 22 snaps against Washington and has 56 carries for 274 yards (4.9 per carry) and two touchdowns in six games.
