Is there, you know, a certain pain tolerance that a human could have in regards to mentality to deal with this.
Um, you look at it and, and that's been the kind of the, the, obviously you noticed it and I and me as well, when Dan said , this is probably not going to be a cure type situation.
It's about management, pain management, what level of tolerance can that player take.
So, clearly after Kirby Joseph is on the pup list.
He is out there running, showcasing, and the reporters that are out there are indicating, well, to us, he looks like he's moving fine.
So now, after the initial interaction that he's had with us, he's posted some workouts.
What, and obviously, we have to always, and and the blessing of talking to Jimmy, myself is, we're gonna try to put this in context so that the average fan can understand.
Exactly what could happen.
We always have to put the caveat.
Myself and Jimmy, we, we haven't treated Kirby Joseph, we haven't seen his charts.
We're just going by information presented, similar type cases and rational, reasonable expectations based on experience.
And so, Now, he, he, you know, he, he, he's on the pup list, and he's hearing the whispers, he's hearing the, the fear that his career could be over.
So now you see him doing basically 20 yard sprints and, and showcasing some athletic movements.
What do you make of that?
And so, We do have to differentiate that workout is different than the daily grind of persistent NFL workouts and performing at the highest level of professional football.
What has he been intending to do and , and he can, you know, have a, a, a solid quality of life.
We're talking about performing at the highest level of athletic ability.
What do you make of just the, the workouts that he started to post on social media?
Here's the issue.
It's not just a pain management issue.
Swelling is some of, is something that can happen.
He's already acknowledged that swelling was one of the symptoms.
When you have swelling, you start having decreased mobility in that joint.
That joint just can't move freely anymore.
Also, if this is an articular cartilage issue, what articular cartilage does is it allows the joint to glide, the bones to glide across each other.
If that is damaged, The bones do not glide as well anymore.
You get friction, you get heat, you get pain, you get swelling, and you can have these mechanical symptoms of grinding, locking, things like that that affect your athletic ability.
Kirby's already said, just in a recent interview, just in the past day of camp.
He was not able to move as fast.
He was not able to be as mobile when he had this issue cause there was swelling and there was disability.
So it's not just uh, let me tough it out, let me just shoot myself up with some pain medication and fight through the pain.
No, it's not that simple.
