The other day when we caught up with him after another great performance, he said, "Come on, guys.
You know I got the juice."
I said, "Okay.

Tyler Mahle, we gotta give him his flowers for the way he started out this game.
Went seven innings, gave up just three hits, no earned runs, two walks, five punch-outs.
What stood out to you about the way he was attacking tonight, George?
Well, there were so many more pitches that were out of the middle of the plate.
He faced 26 batters, 16 of them, he threw first pitch strikes to, and he just looked a lot more confident today.
We tal- we ta- chatted about it in pregame.
Obviously, he was not gonna be doing the things that he has been doing the, the first four games of this season, was not gonna continue for the rest of, for the, the future starts that he's going to make.
And today it looked like he really participated in this rivalry incredibly well.
He looked like he felt comfortable on the mound.
He attacked these guys.
There was a lot to be proud of in, in the seven innings that he pitched.
91 pitches, 63 strikes.
Did a great job attacking.
And what a big deal for Mahle to respond after that horrific start, too, against the Reds just a week ago.
Well, yeah.
I mean, he had, you know, a couple bad starts.
He had one good one.
Mm-hmm.
Comes back tonight against, you know, a, a great team.
Dodgers are a great team- Yeah there's no doubt about it.
But when, when you can be consistent with your command around that box that we see on the screen- you're gonna have a good game.
I don't care whether you throw 100 or you throw 91.
If you can be consistent around there and change eye levels, which he did tonight with a lot of these Dodger hitters, you're gonna be successful.
So I think this is more of what the Giants thought they would see out of Ma- Yeah Mahle so far.
and tonight it was a, a good time for him to figure it out.
