Gibbs the early favorite for OPOY

So, Jahmyr Gibbs has the ability to be a superstar, and the fact that the Detroit Lions have moved on from David Montgomery, he was traded to the Texans, he's been replaced on the depth chart by Isaiah Pacheco, who's gonna make maybe, like, 1.2 million this year.
Gibbs is gonna get a big contract, or at least he should.
He shouldn't set foot on the field until he does.
He is the early favorite to be the Offensive Player of the Year, all due respect to Jackson Smith-Njigba, who won it last year.
And it makes sense, because if they would use Gibbs as the every down guy, he would be Saquon Barkley in 2024, and maybe then some.
And Bijan Robinson, the guy who was taken four picks ahead of Gibbs in the 2023 draft, he's up there too.
Robinson could have a similar special year.
Beyond that- Yeah who knows?
And it's, it's probably gonna be somebody who's not even on the board, I don't know.
But of the guys on the board, Gibbs and Robinson make the most sense, which is why they're at the top.
Yeah, it's Totally.
I mean, you certainly can understand why Jahmyr Chase and Puka Nacua are up there.
I mean, we know the Bengals and Joe Burrow are gonna feed Jahmyr Chase the ball, and he's still extremely talented.
But totally, get the Jahmyr Gibbs th- thing.
Like, like you're talking about.
This is a special player.
He's really special.
I'm not sure he wouldn't be my first pick as far as any running back I can have in football right now.
And I don't say that lightly, 'cause the running backs are awesome in the league right now.
We got a lot of good ones.
But I think if I was starting a team, I'd go, "Eh, I'm taking Jahmyr Gibbs."
Jahmyr Gibbs has the talent, I, I think to what you're saying too.
He could be 1,000 and 1,000 guy.
He definitely can.
He's one of the best r- receiving running backs in the sport.
And whether it's just through traditional route running or the screen game where we know he can catch a ball behind the line of scrimmage and just go zoom, see you later, he's special that way.
I mean, he is a game breaker.
So, it I think a lot of it's just gonna be about Detroit's got some other weapons we know in Amon-Ra and Jameson Williams.
And then what's that offense gonna look like?
They certainly as an offense took a little bit of a step back last year.
It was still really good, but it wasn't the well-oiled machine we saw under Ben Johnson in the years prior to that.
And we saw a few more stale moments later in the year than we're accustomed to with the Detroit Lions.
But yeah, I'm with you, Mike.
There's no denying.
I, I think in fact, he is.
He's the best running back in the sport right now.

They're probably playing the odds of Dallas will mess this up, they'll screw up the whole season, Pickens won't be at training camp, and he won't be the same.

So, maybe that's the reasoning behind it.
But you should put some money on it, Mike.
I think you should make your first bet in a long time and do it.

I think that he would be, depending upon I mean, if he becomes Michael Thomas for the Broncos, he's gonna be one of the guys- I agree that's gonna show up on ballots.

Maybe it's worth its weight of gold if you put it all there and bet on it, and it'll all be paid back to you at the end of the year.
