Islam Makhachev vs. Ian Machado Garry breakdown, prediction for UFC 330
MMA Junkie fight analyst Dan Tom previews the UFC 330 main event welterweight title fight between champion Islam Makhachev and challenger Ian Machado Garry.

It's a welterweight title fight in Philly.
Dan Tom here to help you break down the main event for UFC 330 between Islam Makhachev and Ian Machado Garry.
Makhachev, of course, is the former lightweight champ and pound-for-pound kingpin currently that moved up and, well, took the welterweight title from Jack Della Maddalena.
He's going to look to make his first events against Ian Machado Garry, a not-so-quiet contender who has really stirred up the masses but has kind of developed somewhat of an undeniable resume as far as getting his shot at the title, and he's going to look to make the most of it.
At the time of this video, the oddsmakers and the public are heavily favoring the sitting champ Makhachev in the neighborhood of minus 390 with a comeback on Garry, the challenger and underdog, in the neighborhood of plus 280.
Now, seeing Makhachev as a favorite, much less a fairly wide one, is no surprise, and I don't have too much pushback against it.
However, Ian Garry could be a quiet foil to Makhachev.
Outside of the looming questions as far as size parodies and how that will affect Makhachev as the shorter and smaller man in this division, well, Ian Garry may be one of the very best fighters outside Apollo Costa currently on the UFC roster opposite UFC-level southpaws, where he currently stands at 4-0.
He's going to be able to match and have some lateral footwork and movement dynamics that the sitting champ is going to have to solve.
Also, there's going to be some clinch dynamics that I go over in my breakdown from his insistent overhook to the right side as far as Islam's insistent underhook on that left side and how that mirrors and matches to the single legs and ground fighting alike.
